Update about the E-zine 'A River of Milk'

It's oh so quiet on the weblog at the moment, but for a good reason. I am busy with 'Sylvia', the first issue of the e-zine 'A River Of Milk'.

Kissed by the muse I got the motivation to make some black and white (and grey) drawings to the different poems. When a poem inspires me I get an idea for a drawing instantly. Most of the time I pick a metaphor that speaks to me and the image comes to my mind, generally as a variation on the metaphor itself.

One poem that inspired me to make a drawing is written by the Dutch poetess Hanneke van Eijken. The poem resulted in a drawing and the drawing resulted in another poem, by myself.
If you like to write poetry yourself, try to make art to a poem that you like, and try to write your new poem after finishing the art-work. It seems a surprising method to end up deeper in the poetry-landscape, an evocative part of the human-brain.

Sylvia Plath, she died aged 30 by her own hand about 43 years ago, but her work is still causing the same kind of chain-reaction of inspiration. I am a river of milk, I am a warm hill..
I wonder, could 'Sylvia' the e-zine possibly do the same? Will the flame be given further?

As a poet you never know in who's head and heart your words might plant seeds, who's pen will flow into an inky river of words after being touched and feeling familiar to the love and the ache you've been describing.

You can still submit your work until the end of July, poems, birth-stories or quote(s), art. Also short stories and a column could possibly find a home in 'A River Of Milk'.

The picture you see here is from the soon to be released book 'Taoist poetry - The path that weaves through clouds.'
