The Official Description of 'Da Book!'
' In this reflective collection of personal essays, poems and meditations, fifty women illuminate the powerful role poetry plays in unleashing their spirits. Juxtaposing the waxing and waning of the moon phases, with cycles of concealing and revealing their own voices, the authors tap into an ancient theme to explore the mystical experience of birthing a poem. What is it about the unique nature of poetry that draws fullness of expression from female hearts? How do poems become conduits to what is most sacred within us? This third book to emerge from the "Journey of the Heart Poetry Project" lifts the veil on these, and other mysterious subjects, surrounding women who spontaneously engage poetry writing as part of their spiritual practice. All proceeds from the book will be donated to a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women to express themselves through writing.'
My Essay: 'Spiritual Poetry, twirling around the essence'
I can't wait to read this book and write a proper review of it here, on my blog. My essay got included in this anthology. I wrote it in five parts, A Cliff Of Beauty (poem) , The Sufi In The Rose, Poetry: The Luminescent Angel, Being Settled As The Tide Rises And Falls and The Poetry Baby. I feel very honored about being part of such a unique book about writing poetry as a spiritual practice. Since a few years I am again and again thinking about how much I would like to help women open up to their own inner voice through exercises on writing poetry. I think this book is going to give possible guidelines to do so. In this book I expect to find two of my main interests united, creative therapy (I did two years of the four year study to become an art-therapist) and writing poetry. I won't be able to give therapies because of not finishing the study, but in women's circle's we could read parts of this book to one another and share our own experiences with how writing has helped us and encourage each other. Because 'Woman empower one another.' Like in the lyrics of a rainbow song that I absolutely love, singing: 'We shall lift each other up, higher and higher!'. This is what the poetry group of Women's Spiritual Poetry does, guided by the enchanting editor Catherine Gosh.

I believe it to be good for all writers, to be aware of the spirituality that nurtures all creativity. Spiritual Poetry is a good forum to write about this freely.. Or in the case you feel like a romantic, lonesome writer who needs to feel connection to people, in this case to your sister-writers, this community is a very healing and helpful one to be in. Here it is about love and sisterhood, women of all ages and with all kind of different nationalities and backgrounds find themselves and each other, here, in poetry. It is like an online witches circle or speaking as a Doula I could call this an online Red Tent Of Poetry. I will tell you another time about what a Red Tent is!
For now I leave you with the task to order that utterly epic looking witches-poetry-book and the seeds in your thoughts to grow and share your own poetry-flowers...
What do you think about the idea of the book? And if you've read it, please share here with me how you liked it!
Love-poetry,
L
